Apostacitis
by Rufus T. Firefly inapostacitis is a term denoting a condition with which the watchtower society has become thoroughly infected, particularly since the year 1981 when sincere christians who merely resigned from the organization over principled differences in belief became viewed the same as unrepentant wrongdoers (1 cor.
5:11) and as those rejecting the good news about the christ (2 john 9-11).
there was a time when news of one becoming an apostate was so rare among witnesses that it sent shockwaves throughout the organization.

Do You Ever Give Thought To A "Great Tribulation"?

The other thing is JW's look at life very negatively and I choose to see the good in the world so my glass is now half full. It sure does make for a much happier life instead of constantly talking about how we need the new system and how bad things are. I can't stand to listen to the lies to WTBTS puts out there. I could scream over that nonscense!!

My act of REBELLION
by Gojira_101 inwell a picture says a thousand words!
i had a tattoo done today.. it was actually interesting because as i was chit chatting with the tattoo artist, she asked me if this tattoo symbolized anything....well actually it does i told her.. me: i was a jw and they are strongly against tattoos or anything that is really "normal" for people.. tattoo artist: i know all about jw, my ex-girlfriend's family was all jw, and i remember one time going over to her parents house and her grandma sat us both down and made us read some scriptures from her bible as to why we were going to hell.. me: actually you will due at armageddon, that is the jw thing.. tatt artist: oh right that is what her grandma said.
i forgot about that, you're right.. so then the rest of the conversation was just me telling her it's a cult and i told her never listen to any jw who comes knocking.. something else interesting that happened just before i came on here.

Veterans Stadium in Philly! It was so hot and humid and we would put frozen wash clothes on our necks to try to cool us. There was one decent place to sit where you could get a little breeze under the cigarette sign and they blocked it off! I remember the last time I went there I had my Bible sitting in the seat beside me and I picked it up and it was so hot it burned my finger. That was the last year we went there because after that we traveled to Hampton, VA until they started using other indoor arenas. Everyone was so happy when they blew up Vet Stadium!!

R.I.P." Daisy"
by smiddy inyesterday we had to make the decision to put our cat down as her health had deteriated so much in the last few months ,and especially in the last week.
many of you will know it is such a traumatic experience to go through and very painfull emotionally .. i had never considered myself a cat person , we rented a house ,double story with an outside balcony and next door had what i would describe as an umberella ?
tree ,where a cat sat, and looked over at us at the second level.. it started hanging around the front door and i said dont feed it as it will never go away.

New here, well, sort of...
by L3G inbeen lurking here for years but finally decided to come out, at least partially.
of all things, the post of 'bats in the belfry' re: the supposed break up of gb member geoffrey jackson and his cute (ex-?
) fiancee a few days ago spurred me to do so.

Thank you for all of your recommendations, it will give me a place to start. Since waking up about TTATT I have wondered about the Bible and I just don't trust anything that came from the WTBTS!

I know some of you have referenced excellent books but I am not sure where to find them. I am looking for some very good books to give me the other side of not believing the Bible. I am not sure where I stand at this point and would like to be informed. Someone gave me the name of two authors, Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. I want something easy to read yet informative. Thanks!
